Interfacing 7-segment display with 8051
7-segment displays are used in applications where distance visibility is required. For example- indicators at railway platforms.
There are two type of 7-segment displays:
1. Common Anode
2. Common Cathode
Common anode 7-Segment display:
In common anode, all the anode of each bar of 7-segment display are shorted and commonly connected to a single supply voltage say +5V.
The below table shows the common anode data for each number displaying on 7-segment display.
